Flip Cloth Diapers

February 16th, 2010 admin No comments

When we started looking for cloth diapers we had a few basic requirements for what we were looking for. We wanted the diapers to be something that would grow with our newborn baby for as long as possible, we wanted something that was economical, and we wanted something that other people seemed to have success using. Once you start shopping for cloth diapers. You find that satisfying all of these requirements is not as easy as you would think.

For example, it is not hard to find cloth diapers that are economical. In fact, the nature of cloth diapers and their reusability makes a much more economical and cheap than disposable diapers. However, there are quite a few choices when it comes to cloth diapers. So, there’s quite a bit of shopping that needs to be done before, you can really settle on something.

Once you start shopping for cloth diapers, you’ll find that it is easy to buy into a system that is only going to require you to buy different diapers were diaper covers as your baby grows bigger. The reason that’s not a whole lot of fun is that you end up re-buying the entire set of diapers were diaper covers as your child grows. Now, I don’t know about you, but I’m not a big fan of rebuying an entire set of diapers. Are you?

this is why when we came across the flip cloth diaper system. We were pretty excited. Once we start doing our research, it seems like the flip cloth diapers might be the exact choice we were looking for. At least at first glance, it seemed to fit the bill exactly.

The flip diapers have a few things going for them. It seems like ever cloth diapering systems lack. First, flip diapers have a unique system that allows them to expand as your child grows. So, they can be quite small for when you have just a newborn child. But as your kid gets bigger and grows it allows the diapers to grow with your child. That means you don’t have to rebuy the system over and over again.

The diapers themselves are designed by the same people that designed the bumGenius all-in-one diaper system. This is good because those diapers are quite well-known to be reliable and all-around excellent. If you are interested in an all-in-one system. We were really interested in an all-in-one system for various reasons. So we decided that the flip might be a better option.

The biggest difference between the flip and other diaper systems is that these use a slightly different style of cloth diapering. The flip system is really just a waterproof diaper cover. That is expandable to different sized babies/toddlers. To actually contain the waste. The flip system uses three different types of inserts that fit inside the outer cover. This is really good because it means that the outer cover can be used more than once, and in some cases all you might have to change is the inserts. Buying inserts is a whole lot cheaper than buying an entire diaper.

Also, the flip diapers come in these really nice packs that allow you to buy both the outer shell and the diaper cover at the same time. They are priced at $50 or $60 depending on the kind of inserts that you want. Unfortunately, right now, they only come in two different colors. I’m hoping that perhaps in the future will use other colors as well.

Another really great thing about the flip diapers is that you can actually use a disposable insert as well. Now this might seem somewhat contrary and to traditional cloth diapering but in certain cases . This could be incredibly useful. For example, imagine if you are driving down the road and you go to a rest stop and want to change your baby’s diaper. When it be nice to just be able to throw the waste away and using new insert without having to mess with washing the dirty insert when you get to your destination. I can imagine that on vacation, this would be incredibly useful. Otherwise, you would have to revert back to traditional disposable diaper, which kind of defeats the entire purpose of cloth diapering.

The ability for flip diapers to convert and grow as your child grows is something that would probably say this. A lot of money over other systems. I was looking at some systems that have specific sizes for specific size children. This kind of put me off because you end up buying the same set of diapers more than once. Even though this is still cheaper than disposable diapers. The flip system seems like a much better way to go.

I also really like the fact that these diapers don’t seem like they’re that big of a departure from traditional disposable diaper. What I mean by that is that it seems like once you put the insurgent. Almost anyone who understands how diaper works should not have trouble using these. So, if you use a babysitter or something like that. You could possibly have a few extras just set up and ready to go. So that they wouldn’t have to mess around as much. Just getting them set up and ready.

Personally, I haven’t been able to get a hold of these diapers just yet to try them, but one thing that I’m definitely interested in trying is actually to use other cotton diaper inserts with the flip system. I would imagine that you could possibly use Chinese prefold’s or other prefold diaper inserts in the flip cloth diapers. Since the flip diaper inserts can be a little pricey, it seems like this might be a way to save quite a bit of money.

Overall, the flip diapers or something that you should definitely take some time to look at if you’re interested in cloth diapers. It seems like much less hassle than many other systems I’ve come across, and it might be a little bit cheaper to go with than an all-in-one system like the bumGenius diapers. Anything that makes cloth diapering easier, more cost effective, and nicer is a winner in my book.
